If you choose to remove the body to assemble your kit, now is the time to reinstall it to your chassis. Basically, the body will be reassembled in reverse order that it was removed by.
1. Install the floor pan in the chassis. There may be some minor fiberglass cutting required around the shifter area on the seat package console. After cutting, also install the right and left lower body sections (side pods). Only bolt to the chassis where the door well normally has the bolts exposed. Leave the bolts loose. Also, bolt on the floor pan in a couple of places for alignment. (The seats will go in last.) 2. Install the nose cab section. Start at the rear firewall bolts. Then install the underdash body bolts. Next, install the firewall bolts (front and rear). Then install the nose brace bolts. IMPORTANT: LEAVE ALL BOLTS LOOSE UNTIL THEY ARE ALL INSTALLED. Then tighten after aligning the tape on the body components. 3. This is a good time to mount the motor cover on the tail while the tail section is off of the car. Use large body washers on all bolts to be sure the bolts won’t pull through the body parts when tightening. 4. Install the luggage box before mounting the tail. 5. Install the tail section to the chassis. Be sure you use the proper spacers on the correct sides on the hinge bolts for proper alignment. 6. Install the seat package after making all of the under-dash electrical hookups. It is much easier to work under the dash without the seats in the car. |
