Notes |
A Mirage Stage III kit was purchased by original owner in 1982 from Manta Cars and never assembled. I bought the fiberglass body in 1995 and have built a new chassis and suspension over a period of many years. The chassis consists of a steel tube space frame with riveted stressed panels of 7075-T6 aluminum, Inconel 718, and 6Al4V titanium. Front suspension is by unequal non-parallel a-arms and the rear is a 5-link. The transaxle is an inverted Porsche G50-01 mated to a 383 CID aluminum block Donovan using a KEP adapter and flywheel/clutch. The chassis includes a full roll cage. Dry weight is 1950 lbs; power is 520 bhp. A parachute and spoiler were added for high speed run stability. Wheels are Bassett Racing |
